Biographical Profile of Charlie Kireker
Charlie is a co-founder and former managing director of FreshTracks Capital, L.P., based in Middlebury, Vermont, which manages $36 million in Limited Partner capital in three distinct funds. FreshTracks invests in early stage companies, primarily in New England.
Before launching FreshTracks in 2000, Kireker was an experienced angel investor, Board member and consultant to emerging growth companies, including Stonyfield Yoghurt, Vermont Teddy Bear and Autumn Harp.
Kireker co-founded North Country Angels in 1998, Green Mountain Capital, L.P., a mezzanine Small Business Investment Company, in 1993, and launched Twin Birches, Ltd. in Middlebury in 1986, to develop downtown revitalization and neighborhood projects. Twin Birches remains active in Middlebury real estate to this day.
Kireker currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board and Treasurer of Vermont Public Radio (VPR) and chairs the Finance Committee of Blue Cross Blue Shield of VT.
During the mid-80's, Kireker was Executive Director of the Massachusetts Industrial Finance Agency in Boston. He also led the Program in State and Local Government at Harvard's JFK School from 1979- 1983.
Kireker graduated from Princeton University (BA, 1972, Woodrow Wilson Scholar) and the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard (MPP, 1981).
