Bill joined General Atlantic, a leading global Private Equity firm in 1992. He retired as Managing Director in 2010 but continues to support GA as an Advisory Director. Bill has broad international operational experience and an extensive sales and marketing background. He was an integral part of GA's global expansion, initially in Europe and later in India and China. Bill currently serves on the boards of Lenovo, Gartner, Compuware, Covisint and QTS and is a member of the UCLA Anderson School of Management Board of Visitors, the NYU Entrepreneurial Institute Advisory Board, the Board of the Grand Canyon Trust, and the Board of Trustees of the Nature Conservancy in Florida. He and his wife Joan, who is a trustee of the Adirondack Nature Conservancy, spend their summers in Saranac Lake.
