Founder & CEO, Susie Smith turned her passion for the outdoors and cooking towards solving the problem of finding a high energy bar that was both effective and tasty. In the fall of 2010, Susie started her own energy bar business, Dak Bar. Today Dak Bar is a growing all-natural snack bar company that hand produces real food energy bars. Dak Bar is seeking $400K to expand the company's capacity and ensure that it can meet the growing demand for its products.
Susie and Melinda were in discussion for several years about the possibility of a pitch to Point Positive when she was ready to go full time and to expand her operations. She made her pitch at the July 2023 Point Positive pitch session.
The first round of investment was structured as a Convertible Note. She secured $155k in May and since then has successfully expanded her production and office space in Essex, NY.
In addition to CEO, Susie Smith, Dak Bar currently employs a production manager, and four production staff members.
